Costa Azzurra Hotel

Ich habe im Laufe meiner jahrelangen Besuche in mehr als ein paar Hotels in Skala übernachtet. Costa Azzurra stand ganz oben auf der Liste der besten Aufenthalte/Erlebnisse aller Zeiten. Sehr gastfreundliches Personal und für alle meine Bedürfnisse da. Wundervolle und saubere Zimmer. Vielen Dank!

Dieses Hotel hat eine hervorragende Lage in der Hauptfußgängerzone und ist ein perfekter Ausgangspunkt. Trotz der relativ zentralen Lage haben wir jede Nacht ruhig geschlafen. Nebenan gab es eine schöne Bäckerei, in der wir uns Baguettes zum Mittagessen holten, der Supermarkt war ganz in der Nähe und in der Taverne nebenan gab es eine riesige Auswahl zum Frühstück. Wir hatten alles, was wir wollten: Klimaanlage, großer Kühlschrank, Kochnische mit Spüle, Wasserkocher, Kaffeemaschine, Geschirr, Besteck; bequemes Bett, Balkon, Haartrockner, Bademantel, Hausschuhe, Strandtücher, täglicher Reinigungsservice. Allerdings sind die Duschen so klein, dass man sich darin kaum bewegen kann, und einige der Duschabflüsse sind teilweise verstopft, wahrscheinlich durch Haare, da die Waschbecken und die Toilette in Ordnung waren. Es wurde nichts dagegen unternommen. Unseres war so schrecklich, dass es stank und wir nicht richtig duschen konnten. Die schönen Aspekte dieses Hotels gleichen für mich nicht aus, dass ich nicht richtig duschen konnte, und ich würde nicht wiederkommen.

Wir hatten vor kurzem einen viertägigen Aufenthalt, nachdem wir über ******* gebucht, uns aber vor der Buchung auf deren eigene Website verwiesen hatten. Positiv zu vermerken ist, dass die Lage ausgezeichnet ist – gegenüber der Kirche an der Hauptstraße von Skala mit zahlreichen ausgezeichneten Tavernen ganz in der Nähe. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und das Personal an der Rezeption sehr freundlich. Jetzt leider die schlechten Seiten! Es ist nicht wirklich ein Hotel. Es handelt sich um einen ehemaligen Atelierblock, der etwas renoviert wurde und nur über 10 Zimmer verfügt. Wir kamen an, nachdem wir ein „Superior-Doppelzimmer mit Meerblick“ gebucht hatten, und wurden zu einem Zimmer im obersten Stockwerk an der Seite des Gebäudes geführt. Das Zimmer war in Ordnung, schön und sauber und gut ausgestattet, obwohl der Balkon winzig war und der Meerblick über den Dächern der Nachbargrundstücke winzig war. Der Fernseher funktionierte nicht und der Kühlschrank war nicht eingeschaltet, was bedeutete, dass das kostenlose Wasser warm war. Wie auch immer, ich habe auf ihrer eigenen Website nachgeschaut und auf dem Foto des Zimmers, in dem wir uns befanden, ein „Doppelzimmer mit seitlichem Meerblick“ gesehen – ein Zimmer, das viel günstiger war als die 115 Euro pro Nacht, die wir zahlten, also ging ich zur Rezeption. Die Rezeptionistin bestätigte zwar, dass es sich bei dem abgebildeten Zimmer um das Zimmer handelte, in dem wir uns befanden, behauptete jedoch, es handele sich um ein „Superior-Doppelzimmer mit Meerblick“. Sie rief ihren Chef an, der diese Haltung beibehielt und mir sagte, ich solle ******* anrufen. Als ich wiederholte, dass es die Bilder auf ihrer eigenen Website seien, die zeigten, dass dieses Zimmer falsch sei, und sie bat, ihren Chef noch einmal anzurufen, tat sie dies und widerwillig

A lovely location in the central street of Skala. Don’t let that put you off though as it’s so quiet. Rooms spotlessly clean, we were lucky enough to have the biggest balcony, free air con and free safe and a lovely comfy bed. Would give it 5 stars apart from a few things. There isn’t much storage like drawers for clothes and shelves. The shower is tiny and I mean tiny. If you are a larger person you simply won’t get in the shower. Personally I think they should make these areas walk in wet rooms which would solve the problem if this is possible. Lastly whilst the breakfast was very nice you can only have one cup of coffee or tea which was a little irritating. An extra drink means you have to pay for it. Slightly odd as everywhere else in Skala I have stayed you can have as many as you like with breakfast. Overall a nice stay but for a few pointers.

Would recommend lovely central place to stay, very quiet at night after about 11 ish ,very helpful lady on reception sorted out the shower for us and sorted some breakfast for us before we left, ring to find out what time pick up was for us help with the safe, nothing to much trouble, clean lady always said good morning clean towels every day and room spotless .

Myself, my husband and two children (11 & 7) stayed in a beautiful apartment in the Costa Azzurra and we absolutely loved it, I can’t recommend this accommodation enough. On arrival, we were blown away by the standard of which the accommodation had been prepared for us. So many little touches like a hair dryer, a kitchen stocked with coffee and tea supplies and shower gel etc in the bathroom. The layout of our apartment was perfect for our family - a double bed downstairs with a mezzanine floor upstairs with a spacious room for two single beds for our children. They so loved having their own floor to themselves and looking over their balcony down to our bedroom :-) There is quite a steep ladder to get up to the bedroom so I’d be a little more anxious with younger children up there, particularly for middle-of-the-night toilet stops. Every day our room was cleaned and the beds made, which was appreciated after days spent at the beach. The towels were left in bow shapes, another gorgeous touch. We were in Kefalonia attending a wedding so we’re grateful to be able to borrow and iron and ironing board from reception one day too. The lady on reception (Urania/Irina/Irania perhaps her name was?) was superb - she gave us such a friendly greeting every time we arrived/left our room and nothing was too much trouble. It was so nice to know someone was there to ask questions and help us if we needed (I was struggling with the safety deposit box and she was very patient and helpful!) The location of the hotel is awesome - literally amongst the shops and restaurants in the town of Skala which meant we had so many options of places to eat. Skala beach is a five minute walk from the hotel. We hired sun loungers by Metaxa Beach Bar and never had to worry about rushing down early to get a space. We were staying on a Bed and Breakfast basis so had breakfast at the Old Village restaurant each morning - I’ll leave a seperate review for that place as we love the food and service there too! What a holiday! What a fabulous hotel! We would definitely return. Thank you :-)

The hotel is tucked away on the ‘*****’ of Skala with a wide selection of bars and restaurants (and cats) at your doorstep. The hotel isn’t far away from a self contained flat, with breakfast served next door. Limited reception so you have a code to enter property. Room is pleasant and hotel is very clean. Room had a fridge, kettle and cups included. Shower is tiny as only real complaint. If you want access to everything, including Skala beach which is a generous 10 mins walk down a slope past shops and bars this is the one. We spent a few evenings on balcony and there are several supermarkets close by for water, alcohol, snacks etc as the hotel has no other facilities. It was perfect for us who didn’t want an all inclusive and wanted to sample local restaurants. Added some photos from the street outside

Gelato, the beach, shopping, delicious restaurant choices, stray kittens and iconic views - all as you step outside the entrance to this hotel. Costa Azzurra is the perfect location to take in all Skala has to offer, while providing a comfortable, clean and friendly place as your home base. The beds were very comfortable, the loft gave our kids extra space and the little patio was perfect for early morning nespresso and views. The staff went out of their way to ensure our comfort, provide local info and even helped return items we accidentally left behind. Would stay here again. Everything was immaculately clean and recently updated.

We spent a week here at the end of July. Great central location with pool, beach, bakery, supermarket and bars/restaurants within 5 minute walk. What you want in the hot weather. Breakfast is out the main gate, turn right at a restaurant called The Old Village. When we were here they served 8.30am - 11am. The hotel WiFi works here so that will give you an idea how close it is. You order your food off a menu rather than eat buffet style. We sampled pancakes, porridge with fruits, Full English but there were plenty of other options including more Greek influenced dishes. Coffee was good but found it odd paying €3 extra each day for a large bottle of water to share. Air conditioning good, shower gel and shampoo replenished in room. There is a LARGE refrigerator and corkscrew/bottle opener in room. Do NOT bring towels. They supply lovely large beach towels. Agree with others that the shower/shower curtain situation is interesting in the bathroom but that wouldn't put me off returning. Although a bus transfer was included with Tui, I did treat ourselves to a taxi on arrival as could see we were the last drop off. Very glad as the roads are windy and we had a flight delay. Bus transfer back to airport was perhaps an hour and nice to be last pick up. Check on the Tui app for more info. We used the pool at the Big Village Hotel, which sold drinks but not pool snacks. We also used their shower on departure day as we had a late flight. Not very glam but did the job. We preferred the beach - recommend heading more down to the right of the beach to Milos. Two sunbeds, umbrella and two waters for €10. We had lunch there most days too. There is also a Skala Facebook group I joined which was useful as this was our first time to Kefalonia. Recommend Captain Vangelis cruises (we went to Zante and also did the sunset cruise) and the Kefalonia Wine Tour. Private tour with a trip into the mountains to sample the lovely wines (8 of them!) and enjoy a traditional Greek snack. Abit pricey but worth it. Hope this helps in planning your holidays.
